…Before retiring for the night, he covered the corpse with a canvas and retreated inside where he sat at his piano playing Beethoven’s, Bagatelle in A Minor. His fingers crawled across the keyboard like a graceful tarantula, the haunting melody taking his breath away as he stroked his way through the song, a conflicting gamut of emotions swirling in his head…

In the story:
FBI Agent Derek Carter tracks a serial killer known as the Pharaoh, who's burying his victims under cement; with no head or hands, wrapped in gauze and a small Ankh cross over their hearts. Carter has the uncanny ability to get inside of the minds of criminals, seeing through their eyes, feeling the emotions they felt while doing the crime. As he closes in, the Pharaoh abducts his sixteen year old daughter. In a desperate effort to save her, Carter finds himself in a chase across state lines and faces the Pharaoh in a winner takes all battle.
